Description Assists in the planning, organizing and direction of
departmental activities in collaboration with the Director and
Medical Director. Assists in the establishment of performance and
productivity standards for the Infection Preventionists. Provides
input into the hiring, disciplining, training and development and
performance reviews. Serves as a liaison with the Department of
Health and Mental Hygiene and the Baltimore City and County Health
Departments regarding reporting of communicable diseases,
particularly tuberculosis Performs the duties of an Infection
Preventionist as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an
accredited School of Nursing, Medical Technology, or a related
field or equivalent is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
Current licensure in the State of Maryland as a Registered Nurse or
certification as a Registered Medical Technologist is required.
Certification from the Association for Practitioners in Infection
Control (APIC) as an Infection Control Practitioner is required.
Two years as an Infection Preventionist with supervisory experience
