Job Description:

MedStar Health, a leading not-for-profit healthcare organization in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia area, is seeking a dedicated and skilled CT Technologist to join our team. As a CT Technologist at MedStar Health, you will play a crucial role in our patient-first healthcare service, utilizing state-of-the-art technology to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging. This position involves preparing and operating CT imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and actively participating in the diagnostics team to deliver accurate and timely results that guide patient treatment plans. Operate computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients’ internal organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Follow prescribed safety procedures to ensure patient safety and compliance with regulatory requirements. Prepare patients for CT scans, including explaining the procedure, answering questions, and ensuring comfort. Administer contrast materials as required under the direction of medical personnel. Analyze the results of imaging studies in conjunction with radiologists or other specialists. Maintain patient records and radiologic logbooks, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs of radiographic equipment, reporting more significant issues to the appropriate personnel. Proficient in operating and maintaining CT imaging equipment. Strong analytical skills to interpret diagnostic images. Excellent patient management skills to ensure comfort and safety. Knowledge of radiology safety and protection principles. Certification in Computed Tomography (CT) by the ARRT preferred.
