Job Description:
MedStar Health is seeking a dedicated Dayshift Assistant
Director of Nursing for our Labor and Delivery department. This
position is a cornerstone in ensuring that our high standards of
care and leadership are maintained in our maternity wards. The
Assistant Director of Nursing will report directly to the Director
of Nursing and will be pivotal in managing nursing operations
during day shifts. Responsibilities include overseeing patient
care, managing staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety
regulations, and collaborating with other medical professionals to
maintain the highest quality of maternal and infant health
services. Supervise nursing staff and delegate assignments to
ensure efficient operations during the day shift. Ensure compliance
with all healthcare regulations and safety standards. Collaborate
with healthcare providers across departments to optimize patient
care. Participate in the development and implementation of policies
and procedures. Manage performance reviews, staff development, and
training programs. Monitor patient care and assist with medical
emergencies as necessary. Contribute to budgeting and clinical
resource management. Strong leadership and organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills In-depth knowledge
of labor and delivery practices and procedures Ability to work well
under pressure and make informed decisions in a fast-paced
environment Proficiency with medical software and electronic health
records Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life
Insurance 401k Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of
Maryland or a compact state Certification in Inpatient Obstetric
Nursing (RNC-OB) preferred
