Job Description:
MedStar Health, a leading non-profit healthcare provider in the
DMV area, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse
(RN) to join our Psychiatry division. The ideal candidate will be
dedicated to providing top-quality mental health care, embracing
our patient-first approach that ranges from primary care to
advanced specialized treatments. This role focuses on assessing,
diagnosing, and treating patients with psychiatric disorders,
ensuring the highest level of care in a supportive and dynamic
environment. Assessing patient mental health status and developing
nursing care plans. Implementing and evaluating patient care plans
in collaboration with healthcare teams. Administering medications
and treatments as prescribed by psychiatrists. Educating patients
and families on mental health conditions and maintenance.
Maintaining accurate patient records and adhering to
confidentiality laws. Participating in multidisciplinary team
meetings to discuss patient treatment plans. Providing crisis
intervention as needed. Strong clinical skills in psychiatric
nursing. Ability to communicate effectively with patients,
families, and healthcare professionals. Knowledge of psychiatric
medication and treatment modalities. Critical thinking and
problem-solving skills. Empathy and compassionate patient care.
