Saved Summary Levindale is a 330- licensed -bed facility located in
Baltimore that offers a full continuum of post-acute services to
help patients regain function and vitality after a life-altering
illness or injury. Levindale is accredited by the Joint Commission
and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. UNIT
SUMMARY: Brain Health Unit (BHU): The Brain Health Unit is part of
the specialty hospital at Levindale, it is comprised of two units,
and has a total bed capacity of 60. The BHU units are designed to
provide a safe environment for older patients with neurocognitive
disorders and medical co-morbidities. The nurse will partner with a
multidisciplinary team to engage, support, and treat the patient.
The length of stay is between 20-25 days, which allows the team the
opportunity to assess, implement medication management and a plan
of care that is sustainable and that will maximize quality of life.
The nurse patient ratio is 1:8-10 for nurses and 1:10 for geriatric
nursing assistants. Each unit has a charge nurse that manages a

Provides safe, age-appropriate patient care, and functions as
advisor, resource, for patients and their families as a member of
the patient care team. Conducts and documents an initial and
ongoing assessment and gathers data relevant to the
patient's/family individual needs. Develops and documents a plan of
care for selected patients/families. Implements, documents and
provides care and education based on plan of care. Evaluates and
documents the outcomes of nursing practice. REQUIREMENTS: Formal
working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years
college); requires knowledge of a specialized field A minimum of 1
year experience as licensed RN American Heart Association BLS CPR
Card Maryland Registered Nurse License Microsoft Office Suite,
Basic computer skills, Cerner, Synquest Standard, Office Equipment,
Medical terminology Nursing Process skills based on MD Nurse
Practice Act, Critical thinking skills, Medical equipment Levindale
