Job Description Cardio-Thoracic Surgery Physician Opening in Baltimore, MDLocation: Baltimore, MD – Major metropolitan area accessEmployment Type: Full-time, permanent positionPosition Type: Employed, Hospital-Based Position OverviewSeeking a Cardio-Thoracic Surgeon to join a high-volume cardiovascular program performing a full spectrum of adult cardiac surgical procedures, including TAVR. The role includes collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, vascular surgeons, and advanced practice providers, with dedicated cardiac operating rooms and ICU support. Qualifications / Candidate Requirements MD or DO from an accredited medical school Board Certified in Thoracic Surgery Expertise in TAVR required; other catheter-based skills desirable At least five years of post-fellowship experience preferred Proven track record of excellent clinical outcomes Position Highlights / Opportunity Highlights Perform full spectrum of adult cardiac surgical procedures Two dedicated cardiac operating rooms with specialized staff Dedicated Cardiac ICU support Work alongside 2 cardiac surgeons and 30 cardiology specialists, including interventional and structural cardiologists, electrophysiologists, and vascular surgeons High procedural volume: over 3,000 cardiac procedures per year (~2,000 caths, 600 PCIs, ~50 TAVRs, plus structural interventions) 24/7 support from 20–25 advanced practice providers across the system Academic, teaching, and research opportunities available Compensation & Benefits Guaranteed base salary: $675,000–$850,000, dependent on experience Additional compensation: wRVU and quality incentive opportunities Paid Time Off: 28 days CME: 5 days, plus $7,500 reimbursement for CME and professional expenses Comprehensive benefits package: Health, life, and retirement plans (403b, 457b) Free parking Employee wellness discounts and fitness center access Practice / Facility Details Hospital-based cardiovascular program with high procedural volume Dedicated cardiac OR and ICU teams Multidisciplinary cardiovascular team including cardiologists, surgeons, and advanced practice providers State-of-the-art cardiovascular procedural capabilities Community OverviewBaltimore offers a mix of major city amenities and nearby suburbs, with easy access to Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and New York City.
