Job Description:
MedStar Health, a leading non-profit healthcare organization in
the Mid-Atlantic, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN)
for our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) within our
critical care department. The position involves providing
high-quality, compassionate care to patients with severe cardiac
conditions requiring close monitoring and complex interventions.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced clinical skills, the
ability to function in a high-stress environment, and a commitment
to patient-centered care focused on optimizing patient outcomes.
Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in the CVICU
setting. Monitor cardiac and hemodynamic status of patients and
interpret data to make informed clinical decisions. Assist in
surgical procedures and provide post-operative care. Administer
medications and maintain detailed records of patient treatment
plans. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop
effective care plans. Educate patients and their families on
condition specifics, management strategies, and post-discharge
care. Maintain a sterile environment and ensure compliance with all
health and safety regulations. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
and Basic Life Support (BLS) Proficiency in using CVICU monitoring
systems and equipment Exceptional decision-making and
problem-solving skills Effective communication and interpersonal
skills Ability to work efficiently under pressure Medical Insurance
Life Insurance 401k Current RN license valid in the state of
Maryland, D.C., or Virginia Certification in Critical Care Nursing
(CCRN) preferred
