Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Glen Burnie, MD Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,218 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 12 Weeks Start Date: 5/4/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Glen Burnie, Maryland, 21061! Job Title: Tele Stepdown RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Step Down Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 3x12 (20:00-08:30) Experience: 2 years required License: Active state RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred. Experience with telemetry and step down units. Comfortable with floating within specialty sister units as needed. Description: This position requires a Tele Stepdown RN for night shifts. The candidate will work a 36-hour week, every other weekend. Patients in this unit primarily include adults and geriatrics. Major diagnoses include Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, end-stage renal disease, and cardiac dysrhythmias. The average daily census is 26 patients in a 27-bed unit. Special procedures such as peritoneal dialysis and bedside thoracentesis are performed. Special equipment utilized includes EKG machines and vac dressings. The RN will manage a wide range of patient needs, including those requiring cardiac monitoring. Candidates must demonstrate skills in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias. Care includes management of ventilator patients, central lines, and various medication protocols. The successful candidate will coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams and respiratory services. Floating to other units may be required based on staffing needs.
