Registered Nurse (RN) | Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Location: Upper Marlboro, MD Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,475 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 5/4/2026 About the Position Job Title: CVICU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year of experience preferred; 2 years of open heart experience considered for first-time travelers License: Active RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Experience with post-cardiac surgery patients - Ability to manage complex cardiac conditions Description: The position is for a CVICU RN working day shifts. The schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts each week. Candidates must have experience in cardiac surgery and related diagnoses such as CABG, valve replacement, and myocardial infarction. Duties include monitoring and managing patients post-surgery. The nurse will work with patients from adult to geriatric age groups. The average daily census is six patients. The unit features a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2. Floating to other units may be required on an as-needed basis. Candidates must be willing to work every other weekend and as scheduled for holidays. Preference is given to those with charge experience and a strong background in cardiovascular care. The work environment includes collaboration with interdisciplinary support teams. Additional skills in advanced monitoring technology and ventilation management are advantageous. Candidates must be comfortable managing acute cardiac conditions and administering emergency medications. This position requires ongoing patient assessment and effective communication with the healthcare team.
