We are now looking to hire a Cook who will support us in delivering high quality food to our Residents. Essential Responsibilities

  • Maintain working knowledge of state and local food regulations in a healthcare setting.
  • Menu development and execution.
  • Running the kitchen and ensuring quality service.
  • Ensuring sanitation conditions, and kitchen and food safety.
  • Scheduling and planning team meeting before service of meal.
  • Prep work and maintenance of quality standards.
  • Communicating clearly with residents, director, kitchen and service staff.
  • Prepare and assist in serving meals in accordance with the menu and recipes.
  • Provide proper plate-up and portion control.
  • Maintain and record proper temperature controls, food storage and food rotation.
  • Perform all side work and setup/breakdown duties as assigned.
  • Stock supplies; Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
  • Plan and direct kitchen activities.
  • Supervise wait staff to maintain quality and hygiene levels.
  • Ensure service runs smoothly.
  • Sourcing, ordering, costing and inventorying of all food, supplies, wares and equipment. Ensuring that quality and cost standards are consistently obtained. Let Director know when there are shortages.
  • Overseeing and assisting with food production tasks.
  • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.).
  • Check food while cooking to stir or turn.
  • Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served.
  • Check quality of ingredients.
  • Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, in-service training programs, etc., as directed.
    Minimum Job Qualifications
    • High School Diploma or Culinary Degree.
    • ServSafe certification preferred.
    • 3-5 years of cooking experience preferred. Experience in fast-paced food environment required.
    • Must have knowledge of service standards and systems.
    • Display a positive attitude.
