Paul Reed Smith Guitars, one of the world's premier guitar and
amplifier manufacturers located in Stevensville, MD is seeking a
dynamic individual to fill the full-time position of Safety
Coordinator.Summary:The primary goal is maintaining and monitoring
the organizations safety and health program to assure compliance
with OSHA, MOSH and local regulations. The Safety Coordinator must
support and foster an environment that continually pushes safety as
the top priority and is safety's biggest cheerleader. Additionally,
this role provides support to the Director of Human Resources with
duties associated with the Human Resource function. This position
is ideal for those with entry-level safety experience.Essential
Duties and Responsibilities of the HR Safety CoordinatorEssential
Functions:
- Maintains safety training files and records, including employee
medical records, injury reports, doctor's notes, respirator
physicals and DOT certificates.
- Maintains the SDS database and chemical tracking for
reporting.
- Schedules, generates agendas and takes minutes for monthly
Safety Committee Meetings. Attends and runs these meetings.
- Works with the Director of Human Resources and representatives
with Maryland Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH) to assure
continued compliance.
- Assists in the investigation of Workers Compensation
claims.
- Records incidents, injuries and OSHA recordable accidents.
Prepares and posts the yearly OSHA 300 reports.
- Learns and researches OSHA and MOSH safety regulations that
apply to PRS Guitars. Assists in implementing regulation changes to
our safety policies, procedures and training in accordance with
local, state, and federal OSHA rules and regulations.
- Organize and schedule yearly safety training calendar including
but not limited to: hearing testing, lockout tagout, right to know,
respirator fit testing, CPR/AED, blood borne pathogen, confined
space, aerial lift training, etc.
- Planning, scheduling and executing the training of managers and
employees in work site safety practices including the proper use of
personal protective equipment, fire prevention, correct handling
techniques for toxins, chemicals, equipment, and other materials,
and other policies and procedures.
- Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or
potential accident or health hazards.
- Provides information to employees about the safety program, and
generates signs, posters and barriers to warn of potential and
actual safety hazards.
- Run the PRS Safety Incentive program. Soliciting ideas, running
the program, awarding prizes.
- Works closely with production management to maintain constant
awareness towards product, process and work life quality
improvements.
- Runs and oversees the vehicle fleet maintenance program
- Maintain and run the PRS Certificates of Insurance
program.
- Work with the Director of Human Resources and Human Resources
Coordinator to ensure HR/Safety is always covered. Will require
some cross training with HR and backup when needed.Experience

Requirements & Competencies
- High attention to detail and sense of urgency
- Time-management, prioritization and organizational skills are a
must
- Associates or Bachelors Degree and/or related experience in
Human Resources/Safety. This position is ideal for someone new to
safety.
- Manufacturing background is a plus
- Excellent Microsoft Office Skills - Outlook, Word, Excel and
Publisher
- Possess creativity and flexibility to work in a fast paced
priority changing environment
- Must have high level of discretion and able to maintain
confidentiality at all times
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication and customer
service skills
