Job Req ID: 62161Web DeveloperThe Johns Hopkins University Press and Information Systems Unit seeks a Web Developer who will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining the Press's public-facing web presence. This position reports to the Chief Information Officer of the Press.The position maintains and troubleshoots aspects of various web sites and eCommerce shopping carts. Consults and communicates with on-site and remote stakeholders to fix reported problems and provide user support to the Marketing department in their use of the CMS. Under supervision of the CIO, the Web Developer designs, writes, documents, and tests new site features and updates. Monitors and optimizes performance of all aspects of the sites. Keeps job knowledge of Drupal and related technologies up to date through self-study and professional contacts.Minimum Qualifications:* Bachelor's degree required.* Additional experience may be substituted for education.* Three years of related work experience with computer systems and applications.* Additional education may substitute for experience.Preferred Qualifications:* At least two years' experience in Drupal development.* Proficient in Drupal stack, PHP, HTML, Javascript.* Experience working with PERL would be a plus.* Excellent critical thinking, analytic, and communication skills.Specific Duties and Responsibilities:* Identifies requirements by establishing personal rapport with business stakeholders and with other persons in a position to understand service requirements.* Arranges project requirements in programming sequence by analyzing requirements, preparing a work flow chart and diagram using knowledge of platform capabilities, subject matter, programming language, and logic.* Develops and maintains modules by encoding project requirements in computer language; entering coded information into the computer.* Confirms module operation by conducting tests; modifying program sequence and/or codes.* Provides reference for use of features by writing and maintaining technical documentation.* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.* Protects operations by keeping information confidential.Develops and maintains applications and features by evaluating client needs; analyzing requirements; developing software systemsClassified Title: Programmer AnalystWorking Title: Web DeveloperRole/Level/Range: ATP/03/PCStarting Salary Range: $50,700 - $69,780 annually (commensurate with experience)Employee group: Full TimeSchedule: Mon-Fri, 8:30 am - 5 pmExempt Status: ExemptLocation: Homewood CampusDepartment name: Press Information SystemsPersonnel area: Academic and Business CentersThe successful candidate(s) for this position will be subject to a pre-employment background check.If you are interested in applying for employment with The Johns Hopkins University and require special assistance or accommodation during any part of the pre-employment process, please contact the HR Business Services Office at jhurecruitment@jhu.edu.
