information.Content Management System Administrator Remote Role in
support of Allscripts' Hospital & Health System Solutions This
associate will work Eastern US time zone hours The associate will
support a technical writing team by serving a dual role as the
administrator of IXIASOFT, the content management system, with
technical writing responsibilities. They will be the team's key
resource to support the CCMS and other application tools, i.e.
Oxygen. CMS ADMINISTRATOR RESPONSIBILITIES Perform system
administrator tasks for the IXIASOFT Component Content Management
System (CCMS) publishing platform. Maintain publishing tools (DITA
Open Toolkit plugins for required outputs: PDF, online help, hover
help, and other formats as needed) using XSLT, XSLT-FO, Ant,
Python, and CSS. Implement Oxygen Schematron rules for quality
assurance. Maintain vendor relationship and take vendor sponsored
class or product offerings to stay informed on CCMS. Advise,
maintain, and schedule software and application updates to support
the performance of the CMS. Create and maintain all templates,
EDDs, DTDs, structured applications, and schemas. Periodically back
up document bases and apply that content to the test server. Make
updates to system configuration files for the CCMS. Create, test,
and deploy deployment packages for new versions of the CMS desktop
client. Evaluate possible IXIASOFT CCMS upgrade and conversion from
SuiteHelp to Oxygen webhelp. Work with Allscripts IT to manage all
servers related to the CMS Troubleshoot CMS issues, including user
errors and ensure that tools are functioning properly for writers'
use; work with vendors to correct bugs. Manage user and group
maintenance, adding, removing, and activating users for test and
production document bases. Conduct, create, and maintain
appropriate training materials for architecture and structure.
Import native DITA content into Classic or Dynamic Release
Management (DRM) and test and conduct IXIASOFT CMS migrations of
content from Classic to DRM. Evaluate evolving tooling needs of the
team and recommend potential solutions, including new software,
additional team training, and development of custom applications,
including features for design of the CMS. Meet with the writing
team to solicit feedback on repository usability, problems, design,
content reusability, and communicate regularly with writers about
changes or process updates or reminders on tools. TECH WRITER
RESPONSIBILITIES Plan, write, edit, and perform other tasks to
develop documentation. Gather information through various avenues
such as research using TFS/Azure DevOps, interviewing, application
testing, training, and product team meetings to develop accurate
and complete product documentation. Solve documentation problems
independently. Monitor defect tracking for documentation defects;
respond promptly to correct or reassign errors and report the
outcome. Attend and participate in applicable meetings. Use
tracking system as required to monitor and record documentation
tasks. Apply all required standards and styles to documentation
including copyrights and trademarks. Mentor and train less
experienced writers in technical communication skills. Demonstrate
leadership skills by working as a Team Lead, project lead, or a
recognized resource in a technical documentation capacity. Work
diplomatically and effectively with subject matter experts and
other team members in resolving issues. Create and lead strategic
development initiatives to advance department focus and function
competitively, as needed. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TOOL
REQUIREMENTS ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS BS or BA Degree in English,
communication, technical writing, information design, business, or
other related combination of training and experience. EXPERIENCE
Five or more years' experience using DITA or DITA CCMS required ;
knowledge and experience using IXIASOFT CCMS (including DRM)
preferred. Thorough knowledge of DITA and the DITA Open Toolkit,
including how to build new and maintain/update existing output
plug-ins. Extensive experience with structured authoring tools
(such as Oxygen or other XML authoring tool) and DITA for the
development and maintenance of all necessary templates, and EDDs.
Thorough understanding of scripting and building output using ANT.
Author and maintain script utilities, in Python or other scripting
language, to streamline documentation processes, preferred Thorough
understanding of markup languages (HTML, CSS, SGML, XML, XSLT,
XSL-FO). Experience in communicating technical information to
writers, including training in tools, and educating/mentoring re.
best practices. Experience in collaborative team environments.
Excellent organizational, decision-making, and time management
skills Ability to prioritize and manage multiple issues and
projects. Project management experience, preferred. Excellent
verbal and written communication skills. TRAVEL None WORKING
ARRANGEMENTS Remote office, East coast location strongly preferred.
This associate will be expected to work Eastern time zone hours
M-F. Participate in weekend maintenance activities, as required.
