DescriptionJob Title: Rendezvous & Proximity Operations (RPO) Software EngineerJob ID: #360Job Description:Omitron is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fulfill a full-time position open for an RPO Software Engineer to support NASA's On-orbit Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing 1 (OSAM-1) Ground System Development & Operations Team. This team is responsible for development the OSAM-1 Ground System Software and providing Mission Operations support from pre-launch until spacecraft disposal. Candidate will participate in mission concept of operation development with respect to the ground system. This position will transition from software development to on-orbit spacecraft operations. Specific areas of support will include:Developing ground operations software for monitoring rendezvous and proximity operations (RPO)Collaborate with RPO Flight Team to identify and incorporate required functionality in the ground systemDesigning additional software/visualizations that are necessary for supervising autonomous rendezvous & captureConducting requirements analysis, design, prototyping, coding, unit testing, integration and test, documentation, sustaining engineering, and post-launch ops supportParticipating in concept of operations development for the OSAM-1 mission operations and ground systemParticipating in Mission Engineering Reviews (CDR, ORR, LRR, etc.)US citizenship required / EEO/AA / E-Verify ParticipationFor compliance with new Executive Order 14042 regarding Government Contractors, you will be required to provide documentation of Full Coronavirus Vaccination Status to Omitron, and to the designated personnel of the subcontracting, contracting and/or federal officials.Required Skills:Experience in C, C++, Python, JAVAand UnixExperience with GitExperience with ground system software developmentUnderstanding of Software Development LifecyclesHave the ability to adapt and respond to changing circumstances and prioritiesExcellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skillsDesired Skills:Experience with optical navigation and 6DOF orbit/attitude estimation from sensor imagery highly desiredExperience with FreeFlyer and Matlab is highly desiredExperience with spacecraft rendezvous operationsKnowledge of Orbital Mechanics Required Degree & Experience:Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics with a minimum of 5 - 8 years of experience, preferably in a spacecraft operations environmentJob Location:NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MDSecurity Clearance Requirements:NoneCompany Overview:Omitron is an Aerospace Engineering and Information Technology small business firm headquartered in Beltsville, Maryland with a field office located in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
