Job Description Netorian is seeking a Database Management Specialist (Senior). In this role, the Database Management Specialist will be responsible for thoroughly understanding the organization's processes/needs to provide the appropriate database solutions as well as the enhancement and maintenance of the database structure. Employment Type: Full-time, exempt. Compensation: Competitive, based on qualifications and experience. Location: Pikesville, MD. Teleworking permitted. Travel: None. Clearance: Successful candidate must be able to pass a Background Check. Education: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline or three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field. Experience: General: Must have six (6) years of experience in DBMS systems analysis and programming. Specialized: At least three (3) years of experience in using current DBMS technologies, application design utilizing various database management systems and experience with DBMS internals. Preferred: Understanding law enforcement data. Knowledge of SQL server encryption. Deep expertise in database architecture and experience in providing solutions. Experience with SQL Server and Oracle in the areas of database administration, as well as schema design, database object development, management, optimization, and SQL programming, including stored procedures, triggers, functions, and error trapping. Proven communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate information to all levels within the organization, and to interact well in a team environment. Description of Work: Create tables, views, and stored procedures to support the enhancement/development and ongoing support of the Gun Center system. Responsible for ensuring the performance of the database. Securing the database and maintaining proper access to the database will be important. Provide solution design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation to support data analysis, processing, reporting, and decision-making for strategic initiatives. Design and enhance/develop the Gun Center database structure and objects required such as tables, views, and stored procedures. Design and fully document the database structure and changes. Coordinate and manage the security of the database using industry-standard best practices. Develop structures and processes to support database solutions including availability, logging, monitoring, performance, scalability, and data quality. Develop and perform tests and validate all data processes according to business requirements and incorporate all business requirements into all design specifications. Adapt processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new business user requirements. Provide support and maintenance for database changes and documentation. Facilitate responses to database issues, outages, and recoveries in critical situations, serving as a resource to remedy difficult technical issues. - - - - - - - - - - WHY WORK FOR NETORIAN?
