Job Summary:
To provide maintenance, service and repair to the district instructional computers and related equipment. Assists with, plans, conducts, and develops analytic studies of existing operations and programs to determine feasiblity of conversion to a data processing system; does other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Three (3) years of experience in the design, installation, and operation of programs for electronic data processing equipment and/or in the design and implementation of systems for electronic data processing application.
• A++ Computer Certification Preferred; A+ / Net +
• Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey.
• Will be required to pass a criminal history background check, physical and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status. (CURRENT EMPLOYEES EXEMPT) Reports To: Technology Manager
  
  Performance of Duties:
• To provide routine maintenance, service, and repair to the district instructional computers and peripherals.
• Schedules and dispatches resources to track/troubleshoot/correct network related issues either logged through the help desk and/or recorded through the monitoring of the network.
• To make recommendations related to maintaining and keeping the district instructional computers and peripherals current.
• To maintain a log of all service requests to monitor individual equipment performance.
• To assist in the design and implementation of new computer technology within the district.
• To assist and advise appropriate staff in the evaluation of current computer equipment and make recommendations for improvement.
• Plans and installs software updates and patches to network operating systems, server-based applications, and centralized services.
• Plans and installs hardware upgrades for network servers and associated telecommunication devices.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation for network hardware/software.
• Plans, configures, and troubleshoots networked devices including but not limited to printers, personal computers, iPads and Chromebooks.
• Diagnoses and repairs or coordinates repair of network hardware.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation (manual or through an online log file) of all errors of high severity and action taken to correct the error.
• Provides technical support to end-users.
• Ability to schedule and organize work activities and identify/resolve problems which arise.
• To maintain uniform standards for all instructional related equipment.
• To provide appropriate training in the use of computer hardware and related peripherals.
• To provide input in the budget preparation process for appropriate maintenance and repair of instructional equipment.
• To perform other duties as assigned by the Technology Manager.
