Overview: GovCIO is currently hiring for a Cybersecurity Engineer to embed security-by-design into system architecture. This position will be located in Fort Meade, MD and will be an onsite position. Responsibilities: The Cybersecurity Engineer embeds security-by-design principles into system architecture, cloud infrastructure, software configuration, and data handling approaches developed during IOC. This role addresses access controls, data protection, segmentation, and preparatory RMF considerations to reduce authorization risk during follow-on implementation. Early cybersecurity involvement ensures autonomous pentesting capabilities are deployed responsibly and align with DoD cybersecurity requirements as the capability transitions into IOC execution. Define cybersecurity controls and secure configuration requirements Support RMF and authorization planning activities Ensure secure handling of autonomous assessment data Qualifications: High School with 10 years (or commensurate experience) Required Skills and Experience Clearance Required: TS/SCI CI Poly 10 yrs experience with DoD cybersecurity frameworks and RMF Background in cloud and data security Experience conducting penetration testing, risk assessments, and vulnerability scans DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II (SecCE, SSCP, CND, CCNA Security, etc) NSS DL TM Company Overview: GovCIO is a team of transformerspeople who are passionate about transforming government IT. Posted Pay Range The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors. Posted Salary Range: USD $193,000.00 - USD $213,000.00 /Yr.
