faster.---Jacobs is seeking a Senior Network Security Specialist
(CCNP Security) who will support several projects for IC and DOD
customers. This positions will be located in Columbia, MD. **This
position is eligible for a $5K sign on bonus**Duties and
responsibilities will include the following:Providing technical
assessment of requirements and definition from conception through
implementationSurvey network requirements of remote customer
offices, campus buildings, and Data Centers. Define equipment,
cables, adapters and configurations needed to upgrade buildings and
sites to established standardAnalyze current network configurations
and determine implementation requirementsConfigure routing
protocols, switched networks, and Cisco Adaptive Security
Appliances Firewalls with Firepower servicesPrepare network
equipment for deployment by loading appropriate software and
configuration setting according to pre-engineered design
templatesAssemble required equipment, cables, adapters, etc. and
arrange delivery to site for installationUpgrade configuration of
existing network equipment to support new features and
functionsManage field installation contractors while they are
on-site and provide all technical details to complete
installationsContinually review the customer's network and
practices looking for opportunities to enhance network
functionality, performance and reliabilityAssist in the evaluation
of potential network products or technical solutionsTest LAN/WAN,
Firewall and IPS equipment software (i.e.: IOS, NXOS)Contribute to
the development of network documentation, including diagrams,
standards, specifications and operating proceduresMonitor for
opportunities to enhance the customer network/system performance or
reliabilityMonitor for opportunities to improve the customer
service delivery practicesPerform on-going management of network
installation and upgrade projects and maintain deployment
schedulesProvide guidance to team members and provide status
metrics to Project ManagersProvide support and troubleshooting of
network problemsPeriodically provide after-hours and weekend
support.Maintain and extend expertise in applicable areas of
network and computer hardware and software technologyDevelopment of

computer or system science discipline from an accredited college or
university and five (5) years to eight (8) years of progressive,
relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education,
experience, training and certifications7+ years of hands-on network
experience5+ years of hands-on experience configuring routing
protocols and switching configuration in medium to large enterprise
networksSecret security clearance requiredCisco Certified Network
Professional (CCNP) Security certificationDesired
Qualifications:Understanding of network connectivity for physical
and virtualized servers and Storage Area NetworkHands-on experience
with Cisco IOS, NXOSHands-on experience with Cisco ASA and
Firepower Services IPS (Configuration of Access policy, service
policy NAT, license management) Experience with Cisco
networksKnowledge of Wide Area Network technologiesKnowledge of
Local Area Network technologies such as Ethernet as well as the
physical media and equipment associated with each knowledge
areaKnowledge of IP routing protocols and
implementationsDemonstrate strong oral and written communication
skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics to
management and non-technical audiences, as well as interface with
the customer on a daily basisWilling to travel. Team members
typically travel less than 5% per yearVMWare Data Center
Virtualization or End User Computing experienceExperience with
Software Defined Networks (SDN) solutions across WAN (SD-WAN),
campus (SD-Access), and network virtualizationCisco Identity
Services Engine (ISE) is a network administration product that
enables the creation and enforcement of security and access
policies for endpoint devices connected to the company's routers
and switches. The purpose is to simplify identity management across
diverse devices and applications.Strong analytical, problem

Functions:Physical Requirements:Most work will be done at a desk or
computer.Work Environment:General Office environment. The work
environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline
pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of
teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as
individuals across the Company and Customers.Equipment &
Machines:General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax,
Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous
office equipment.Attendance:Attendance is critical at all times.
Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through
Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business
requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during
critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for
