Job Description

TheClaims Technician isresponsiblefor processing reimbursement payments for State Vocational Rehabilitation Agencies (SVRA)for the Social Security Ticket to Work Program. The successful candidate will provide instructions to SVRA about their payments and distribution. He/She will provide information to SVRA with professionalism, precision, and appropriate sense of urgency. In addition, he or she will work closely with the Sr. Payment Specialist to ensure all deliverables are accomplished.

The ideal candidate for this position will be extremely creative, proactive, energetic, and comfortable working with others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to SVRA reimbursement Payment Inquiries regarding status of payments, clarification of policy and assist processing payments for beneficiaries

  • Evaluate and Review all request reimbursement and cost by ENs and SVRAs to ensure compensation is made in a timely, accurate and efficient manner

  • Coordinate with SSA on any discrepancies or corrective action plan prior to making payments

  • Coordinate with SSA in creating automated payment utilizing their iTOPSS system

  • Adhere to Performance Requirements

  • Provide SVRA with updates ensuring compliance with timeline expectations

  • Making the SVRA aware of other services and actions that may lead to greater success

  • Keeping up on trends, changes, and competitor actions that might affect payments

  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information

  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies

  • Excellent organization skills

  • Ability to work well independently

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently and meet aggressive deadlines

  • Ability to work independently, self-starter

Candidates that do not meet the required qualifications will not be considered.

Additional Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma

  • BS or BA preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Federal program preferred

  • Project Management experience preferred
