Job Description Havtech---s Safety team is growing Are you an
individual looking to grow your career in the field of safety? If
so, our newly created Safety Specialist role might be a great fit
for you. The Safety Specialist will support the development,
implementation, training, periodic updating, and auditing of a
comprehensive Safety program across all business locations to
promote a safety-focused culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and
secure a safe work environment for all employees. They will support
functional areas relating to Safety and Risk Management by
providing hands on support and services for safety trainings,
inspections, incident and claims management, investigations, and
overall program administration consistent with business goals and
objectives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the
following. Other functions may be assigned. Lead safety programs
and initiatives by influencing employees--- actions and behaviors
toward safer choices. Conduct safety audits, inspections, and plan
reviews in order to identify unsafe conditions and program gaps, as
well as ensuring best practices. Deliver safety training as
applicable for employees at relevant locations. Maintain the safety
training tracking system to ensure all information is organized and
up to date for all locations. Perform incident investigations with
a focus on gaining understanding of the root cause and determining
best corrective and preventive actions for the identified causes.
Continuously works with key stakeholders to build consensus on
objectives, develop action plans to address training and compliance
needs across the enterprise as it relates to safety for all
locations. Coach/mentor employees at a variety of levels on safe
work practices, hazard identification and risk management.
Approximately 5-10% local and regional travel required.
QUALIFICATIONS include the following. Bachelor---s degree in
Occupational Safety and Health or related field of study preferred.
Interest in pursuing a career in Occupational Safety and Health.
Experience with HVAC and/or other related technical work. 1-2 years
of safety experience in general industry or construction. Knowledge
and understanding of OSHA and State safety regulations. Knowledge
of the programs, policies and practices of the Commercial HVAC
industry and warehousing related to safety and property preferred.
Strong communication, influencing, and diplomacy skills. Strong
cross-functional strategic leadership, communication, and teamwork
skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are
