Oregon.The Electromechanical Systems Engineer is responsible for
specification, conceptual design, planning, and development of
electronic systems, focused on mechanical and design specifications
in areas of considerable scope and complexity for the industry's
leading micro-lithography systems. The position requires highly
motivated, extremely organized and self-driven individuals.This
position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in
the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.).
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such
controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may
require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately
eligible to access controlled technology.Role and
responsibilitiesAbility to design and document all aspects of the
electrical infrastructure including:AC, DC, Main power distribution
(panel boards, boxes and cabinets).Interconnect cables, bundles and
connectors (harnessing).Electronic racks, cabinets, control
consoles.Interfacing with printed circuit board designs.Modeling of
flex and rigid PWB's including volumes and critical part
locations.Packaging and layout concepts when faced with limited
volume.Interact intensively with colleagues from the Mechatronics
Systems and Mechanical Development departments.Experience with 3D
solid modeling for design conceptualization and realization
(preferred experience using NX).Perform trade-off studies to
determine the preferred implementation scenario for new or changed
electromechanical packaging and layout. Get agreement with
stakeholders.Make work breakdown and effort estimation for the
various electronics products, aligned with other
stakeholders.Conducting system and subsystem fit and layout checks
during integration/testing, data collection, and analyzing the
effectiveness of the resulting data.Knowledgeable of industry codes
and standards ( i.e. NEC 70, NFPA 79, Machine Tool
Standards).Manage the outsourcing of development activities at
co-developers.Act as a technical coach for electromechanical
designers and other team members.Working knowledge of wiring
diagrams and schematic diagrams.Education and experienceBS
Engineering with a major in Mechanical Engineering and/or
Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.8+ years of
relevant design experience.In-depth knowledge in the following
topics:Mechanical design of electronic cabinets and
racks.Understanding of cabinet and rack cooling design and analysis
a plus.Structural design and analysis of mounting concepts for
electronics assemblies.Cable routing, cable bundling and wiring
design.Sheet metal design.Basic knowledge of Physics; Including
Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Mechatronics.Multiple years' experience
as designer of electromechanical assemblies and sub-systems,
including experience with working in multidisciplinary design teams
to establish agreement on specifications.Electromechanical Product
Design (NPI).Electronics Cabinets and racks design.Conceptual
design and Modeling of flex and rigid PWB's in various
environments.Layout and design of cable and fiber interconnects
between complex electronics modules.Knowledge/hands-on experience
with software/technical tools.3D CAD (NX preferred); Other
parametric programs like SOLIDWORKS or Creo are also acceptable.DMS
(Teamcenter preferred); Other systems such as Windchill are also
acceptable.ERP (SAP preferred); Other ERP systems also
acceptable.Quality Focus and Ownership Mentality- desire to deliver
top quality at the right cost, right time.Strong English
Communication Skills- both written and oral.Technical Presentation
