Signal 88 Security has an immediate job opportunity for a Dedicated Patrol Security Officer who possesses a current and valid State of Maryland Security Guard License. This role is expected to work 21-28 hours per week typically between 2200 (10pm) and 0400 (4am). WEEKEND AND 2nd/3rd SHIFT AVAILABILITY A MUST!Please apply for more detailed information about available shifts.Main Responsibilities:A Signal 88 Security Officer protects the properties of our respected clients. The goal is to deter theft, vandalism, loitering, and to create a safe environment for residents, employees, and property managers.Duties may include:

• Conduct foot patrols of courtyards, management offices, pools, and/or other corridors to ensure that the property is safe and free of any illegal or inappropriate activity.
• Monitor the property for suspicious activity which could include unauthorized vehicles, vehicles that have been broken into, trespassers or people loitering, trash and lighting issues, or other items that are not normal to that property.
• Check all doors to ensure employees locked up and set necessary alarms.
• Check for lighting, trash, and security issues and notify clients via reports of: lights that are out, trash that is not disposed of properly, and any potential areas that there could be a breach of security (no fence, hole in fence, overgrown trees or bushes to hide in, etc.)
• Security Officer will not be using force of any kind; you will only be a verbal and visual deterrence.
• Must write clear and accurate reports according to the Operations Manual guidelines to document all that you saw during the patrol. Must be able to type, spell and use correct grammar in the reports.
• All patrols and routing are conducted through our software. New Officers will be required to learn the software and use it in the appropriate manner to maintain efficiency and submit reports in real time.

  • Night and weekend availability
  • State of Maryland Security Guard LicensePrefer to Have:
    • Military or Law Enforcement Background
    • 2+ Years Security Experience
    • Associates/Bachelors DegreeSkills Required
      • Ability to operate Smart Phone (Cell Phone) and Apps (Camera/Report Writing)
      • Ability to independently make decisions based on the available information
      • Ability to clearly and calmly communicate with individuals on the clients property
      • Ability to call and speak with On-Call maintenance workers to have them lock any open doors
      • Ability to sit for long periods of time and drive a Patrol Vehicle
      • Ability to write reports using a Smart Phone

        • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
        • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
        • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle checks if applicable
