Job Description:

The School of the Cathedral, located in Baltimore City Maryland, is seeking a full-time Prek-8th Grade Music teacher. The teacher is responsible for implementing daily standard-based lessons to support student's application of developmentally appropriate skills and concepts in music and music appreciation, as well as to engage parents and colleagues in support of the curriculum as prescribed by the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Job Responsibilities:

• Teaching general styles of music.
• Integrating to students at all levels.
• Incorporating musical instruments and movement in lessons.
• Planning and implementing a program of instruction and lesson plans.
• Preparing students for school concerts and planned music experiences.
• Inspiring and motivating students to extend themselves to after school music clubs.
• Building relationships and mentoring students.Qualifications:
  • Degree in Music Instruction, Education, or related field
  • MSDE certification in music education or elementary education or the ability to obtain certification in one to two years
  • Experience teaching at the elementary level
  • Knowledge of the Catholic faith preferred
