Supervisor (Final Inspection & Mechanical Completion)
Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
- Perform inspection of final products, materials or components
according to procedures and customer's specifications, such as
measure and record the dimensions of components/parts using
measuring instruments and analyze the findings for
discrepancy.
- Perform visual inspection components/parts before and after
packaging.
- Perform first piece, online and final inspections, as directed
to assure that items meet required standards and conform to the
manufacturing specifications.
- Prepare final inspection report, required testing records/
reports relating to final inspection and mechanical
completion.
- Analyze result and decide the acceptance level of the final
product.
- Understanding the functions of the various equipment and
instruments also thorough knowledge of reading/ interpreting the
engineering drawings (P & IDs, PEFS, and PFDs).
- Monitoring the improvement of major defects and providing the
feedback to the supervisor on a continuous basis till the issues
have been resolved.
- Follow standardized procedures and instructions for final
inspection and mechanical completion across a wide variety of
customized parts with very close tolerances and
specifications.
- Determine method of inspection and setup requirements on final
inspection parts/ components.
- Review of material test certificate, NDT inspection report,
hydro test report and other inspections report.
- Familiar with the use of all measuring instruments/ equipment
like ID/ OD micrometers, Vernier caliper, internal & external
thread gauge, bore gauges, etc.
- Maintain all the instruments and gauges in good condition with
timely calibration.
- Prepare inspection and testing procedure wherever
applicable.
- Familiar with 7QC tools, 5S, 8D Problem solving, SQC, QMS, CAPA
and RCA.
Qualification/Requirements:
- Experience leading final product/ component inspection, testing
& validation.
- Strong knowledge of international/ national standards ISO 9001,
ASME, ASTM, ANSI, API & NACE for mechanical inspection and
testing.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude and a passion for quality.
- Strong background in product quality requirements, testing
parameters and measuring instruments, nondestructive testing (NDT)
& PMI.
- Experience in interpretation of Engineering
drawings/specifications, metrology, and manufacturing process. Must
understand GD & T and be able to lead technical design and
manufacturing reviews with suppliers.
- Project Management skills, Strong analytical and problem
solving skills, Ability to work in cross-functional and global team
environments.
Desired Characteristics:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Production or Metallurgical
Engineering / Advanced Technical Degree.
- Black Belt certified or equivalent (demonstrated experience) is
desired. Core competencies of a BB are a must for improving
supplier statistical capability, evaluating readiness to serve,
including capacity verifications
- Inspection and testing experience in different manufacturing
processes like machining, casting, forging, welding etc.
- Demonstrated proactive approach and issue ownership with
process orientation.
- Highly self-motivated.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Project Management Skills
