Orion Talent, the nation's largest military recruiting firm, is currently recruiting transitioning or former military professionals for Electronics Buyer positions with an engineering-driven electronics contract manufacturing organization specializing in the design and manufacture of highly complex electronic and RF circuit cards and assemblies.

Position Details
Location: Baltimore, MD
Compensation: $60,000 - $75,000
Shift: M-F, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (hours may vary)
Travel: Less than 10%

Position Description
As an Electronics Buyer, you will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of the company's supply chain. Your primary responsibility will be to place orders for Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), Fabricated Material, and Electronic Components using the MRP system, adhering to established guidelines and dollar limits. You will act as a vital liaison between vendors, manufacturing, quality, and the engineering department. Key responsibilities will include:
--- Place Purchase Orders based on MRP system notifications.
--- Manage open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery by suppliers.
--- Maintain real-time system data accuracy for customer commitments.
--- Oversee major subcontracts like metal fabrication, PCB fabrication, and contract assembly.
--- Optimize cost and quality for all components through supplier negotiation and market analysis.
--- Follow through on parts to ensure timely arrival and stocking.
--- Execute push-outs, pull-ins, and cancellations per MRP requirements.
--- Resolve pricing, logistics, and accounting discrepancies with suppliers.
--- Lead the development of disposition plans for non-conforming parts, collaborating with planning and engineering.
--- Manage inventory levels and address excess and obsolete inventory.
--- Generate RFQs and conduct cost analyses for the lowest total cost of ownership.
--- Assist in supplier selection and qualification in collaboration with supply chain management and engineering.
--- Identify and recommend process improvements in the supply chain.
--- Act as a hands-on contributor, providing oversight and strategic planning for procurement.
--- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel to ensure seamless procurement operations.
--- Interpret system specifications, including military specs and ITAR regulations, as well as verbal inputs for PCB assembly requirements.
--- Read and interpret various documents, such as procedures, datasheets, customer drawings, BOMs, and blueprints.

Position Requirements
--- Proficiency in MRP systems, including a deep understanding of their workings.
--- Previous procurement or supply chain experience.
--- Demonstrated negotiation skills, emphasizing collaborative and creative approaches.
--- Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence with minimal authority.
--- Excellent analytical skills.
--- Understanding of total cost of ownership principles and their application in decision-making.
--- Familiarity with cycle counts, BOMs, ECO processes, and item attributes.
--- Experience in an ISO certified work environment.
--- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and MS Office Tools for communication and record keeping.
