Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for Principal / Senior
Principal Radar Systems Engineers to join our Airborne
Multifunction Systems (AMS) Systems Engineering, Integration and
Test (SEIT) team at our Linthicum, MD campus to fill roles on
multiple major development programs. These include sensors for
current and next generation air, land, and sea platforms: including
Joint Strike Fighter, F-22, F-16, G/ATOR (Ground/Air Task Oriented
Radar), unmanned programs, and other restricted programs and
missions. We offer the opportunity to join a team to solve problems
in the field and drive new solutions into next generation Radar and
Multi-Function systems across a wide variety of platforms and
environments. Qualified candidates will apply strong systems
engineering knowledge and will have the opportunity to work on
multiple tasks including but not limited to: System
Architecture/Concept Development, Candidate Technology Trade
Studies, Requirements Development and Derivation, Algorithm
Development, Performance Analysis, Data Analysis, and work with
cross-disciplinary hardware, software, and firmware teams. We
encourage our engineers to be innovative with solving problems and
identifying improvements. **This position requires up to 100%
on-site work due to security constraints and an ability to pass an
enhanced security review.* *Roles & Responsibilities**:* This
position is primarily engaged in the development and fielding of
Air-to-Air, Air-to-Ground, and Ground-to-Air Radar systems for
advanced dedicated and multi-function RF subsystems. Early in the
system lifecycle, systems engineers develop parametric
representations, visualizations and data driven analysis to support
sensor requirements definition and use case validation. Progressing
past analysis and design, Northrop Grumman Systems Engineers also
support the integration of sensor modes and trackers from digital
simulation environments to sensor labs to our on-site fleet of
specially modified test aircraft. Throughout this process, our AMS
Systems Engineers engage with our customers to balance their
functional and performance requirements with other sensor
functionality to enable true multi-function operation. This
requisition can be filled by a Principal Systems Engineer or a
Senior Principal Systems Engineer *Basic Qualifications for
Principal Systems Engineer* * Bachelor's Degree in Electrical
Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or
Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of related experience; or 3
years related experience with a Master's Degree. Will consider 9
years of applied experience in lieu of degree requirement. *
Demonstrated experience quickly learning new concepts and
approaches. * Experience with MATLAB or equivalent
programming/analysis languages. * The ability to obtain and
maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required. * Ability to obtain
approval for Special Access Programs prior to starting. * US
Citizenship required. *Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal
Systems Engineer* * Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering,
Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Mechanical
Engineering with 9 years of related experience; 7 years of related
experience with a Master's Degree; or 5 years of related experience
with a Ph.D. Will consider 13 years of applied experience in lieu
of degree requirement. * Demonstrated experience quickly learning
new concepts and approaches. * Experience with MATLAB or equivalent
programming/analysis languages. * The ability to obtain and
maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required. * Ability to obtain
approval for Special Access Programs prior to starting. * US
Citizenship required. *Preferred Qualifications: * * Ability to
operate independently with minimal supervision. * Understanding the
AIMS certification process and documentation. * Experience with
Model Based Systems Engineering. * Proficiency with MATLAB, Python,
C++, or equivalent programming/analysis languages. * Knowledge of
system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis
and flow-down, specification derivation and interface control
documentation. * Experience with performance analysis by
simulation, including verification and validation techniques. *
Experience with radar waveform, digital beamforming, adaptive
processing, or algorithm development. * Ability to effectively
communicate and present complex technical concepts to project,
program, and company management, other technical managers, and
customers. * Excellent technical writing and team-building skills.
* A current/active DoD Secret clearance. * Previously approved for
special access programs. *This position is contingent upon the
ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret Clearance and Special Program
Access (SAP) prior to starting and contract award. *Northrop

influenced by a number of factors such as the scope and

eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay to

*Salary Range 2: *$127,000 - $190,600 The above salary range
represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers
a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the
scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's
experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
