OverviewThe Production Control Coordinator will be responsible for the safe, efficient movement and handling of all production related inventory, tools, and equipment as directed. Directly responsible for the movement of all raw material, WIP, and Finished Goods within the Business Unit. Maintains accurate and timely system records of inventory transactions.Responsibilities* Primarily responsible for a Business Unit or subset of a Business Unit* Responsible to assist Production Planning in the release and printing of Work Orders to the shop floor* Moves raw material, WIP, details, tools, and other production material to support production work* Moves material into and out of the Business Unit as necessary.* Maintains Kanban of frequently used material within the Business Unit* Makes requests and interfaces with Purchasing as necessary to ensure tapes, adhesives, potting compounds, and other production materials are available to meet production schedules* Pulls together kits as necessary to support production* Works with the Outside Process Coordinator if necessary to ensure the timely movement of WIP* Maintains cleanliness and housekeeping in area of responsibility* Checks on raw material inventory needed to meet future production schedules* Operates Powered Industrial Vehicles as necessary* Assists Production Planning and Shop Supervisors in the planning and priority of work performed* Any other related duties as assignedQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.COMPANY POLICIES & PROCEDURES* An employee handbook and other company policies and procedures have been prepared to guide employees in their personal conduct and work activities. * Employees are, however, expected to exercise on the spot decisions regarding the workmanship of themselves and others to ensure that quality is built in at every process step.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE* High School diploma or GED is required. * One to three years prior experience with material handling, experience with ERP systems is a plus. * Prior manufacturing experience with light gauge metal forming, band saws, industrial metal cutting, or metal work. * Exposure to close tolerance work and use of calipers and micrometers.COMPUTER SKILLS* Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is requiredCOMMUNICATION SKILLS* Requires solid verbal and written communication skills. * Strong interpersonal skills enabling involvement in a cross functional, quality driven team environment. * A positive, \'Can do\' attitude fueled with initiative, dedication, neatness, sense of urgency, and concern for the satisfaction of customers, both internal and external. LANGUAGE SKILLS* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. * Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. * Ability to speak effectively before employees of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as, temperature, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and dimension. REASONING ABILITY* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
