Shift:

Full Time (40 hours)

Day Shift, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Position Summary:

This Business Analyst will be responsible for supporting process improvements in revenue cycle management and multiple projects across Johns Hopkins Medicine by performing focused analytics (e.g. Epic workqueue trend, data trending, etc.) of reports and providing feedback and problem-solving assistance for report findings. This position will report directly to the Director of the Single Billing Office and work very closely with Executive management to ensure efficient and coordinated functioning of this role. Requires keen analytical thinking and excellent communication and change management skills. Must understand and use an analytic driven process to develop recommendations that are both meaningful and actionable.

Pulls and analyzes reports including but not limited to staff productivity, staff collection rates, workqueues/workflow input and output trending, department collections rates, patient estimate and accuracy trends, call center abandonment rates, reconciliation reporting, and patient satisfaction. Analyzes ambulatory practices and makes recommendations for improvements. Analyzes call center metrics and provides recommendations on process improvement initiatives that are coordinated with the medical offices, including assisting with analysis for Access Services Project Managers. Participates in the development of a more centralized approach for reporting and template analysis by problem solving report issues driven by template build and making recommendations.

Competencies:

Education: A minimum of a Bachelor degree required. Master's degree preferred.

Knowledge: Work requires strong familiarity with healthcare care business processes and terminology.

Skills: Requires keen analytical thinking and excellent communication and change management skills. Must understand and use an analytic driven process to develop recommendations that are both meaningful and actionable. Work requires excellent interpersonal and oral/written skills to effectively interact with all levels of company personnel, vendors, and consultants. Work requires intermediate-level personal computer and business solutions software skills. Microsoft Office Suite, preferred. Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and quickly switch between priorities/tasks. Ability to interact with all levels of staff and adapt to a rapidly changing work environment.

Required Licensure Certification, etc.: None.

Work Experience: A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience with a minimum of 3 years of health care, business or IT experience is required.
