In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the flatbed trailer fleet off site at customer locations around the area. This work will be outside in the elements. With occasional lifting up to 80lbs. You will need to have knowledge in preventative maintenance, lightings systems and basic electrical systems repairs. Core drum brake, disc brake knowledge, ABS system knowledge along with air systems experience is required. You will also need to have experience with wheel end inspections, wheel seal replacements, bearing inspections & replacement. Along with other mechanical repairs associated with common trailer fleets (Glad hands, 7-way receptacles, landing leg repairs/replacements, etc.). This role will require a responsible individual that will be required to work alone at times, safely, have professional manners while working directly with customers, vendors, drivers, etc. Main Responsibilities:

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers
• Using Penskes tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
• Doing preventative maintenance repairslike replacing or rotating tiresand completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles
• Partnering with your manager to learn new skills using Penskes technician training and hands-on coaching

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
    • Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
    • Valid drivers license
    • The ability to solve problems and comfort using tools
    • Excellent customer service skills and communication skills
    • The ability to work well as part of a team and outside
    • Basic computer skills
    • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
