Reports to the Assistant Director of Planning and Market Analysis
and supports service line, corporate, business development, and
other market and strategic planning efforts, as well as ensuring
reliable reporting, synthesis, and analysis of data. The planning
analyst will create and maintain spreadsheets and databases
providing analysis and interpretation of the information to
customers. The planning analyst will research and analyze
Key Responsibilities include:
1) Performs market analyses using demographic reporting, market
sizing, and forecasting software.
2) Prepares and designs spreadsheets and maps for presentation
using Microsoft Office and ESRI ArcMap.
3) Maintains integrity of all databases, to include troubleshooting
measures such as identification of error elements with notification
of in-house source or outside vendor.
4) Creates reports using information from internal datamart and
external state comparative databases in Microsoft Access. Analyzes
and interprets this information.
5) Maintains and analyzes market share spreadsheets and forecasting
6) Analyzes internal data to identify issues and trends.
7) Monitors and communicates healthcare trends and current

9) Supports Director and senior analysts in preparing market,
competitive, and organizational analyses.
Understanding of diagnosis and procedure coding and DRG payment
Required knowledge of health care, health care management, planning
Experience with Microsoft office, including Microsoft Access
Knowledge of and experience with data visualization software
(Tableau, Business Objects,
Knowledge of and experience with healthcare planning software
Experience with mapping software, ESRI ArcMap preferred.
Proficient knowledge of the regulatory environment and healthcare
market in Maryland and surrounding states.
A minimum of 2 years of healthcare industry experience including
planning, marketing, finance, operations is required.
Bachelor's degree in health care administration, business,
healthcare policy, or public health or related field required.

8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Proficient interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and
interact with all levels of JHM staff, as well as external vendors
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to
present reports and analyses to senior management in easily
Ability to meet work schedules within limited time frames and under
tight deadlines in response to information needs of senior JHM
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a timely
Required Licensure, Certification:
Works in generally good working conditions where there is little
discomfort due to extremes of temperature, dust, noise and the
like. Work requires attention to detail.
