Overview We are seeking a highly driven and detail-oriented
Automation Application Specialist to provide on-site support at
client locations. This role focuses on delivering technical
expertise, responsive support, and customized solutions aligned
with client-specific laboratory requirements. The selected
candidate will conduct critical experiments to enhance laboratory
operations, leveraging existing processes and infrastructure to
ensure accurate, high-quality results within defined timelines.
Strong hands-on experience with automated laboratory systems and
the ability to execute cell-based and biochemical assays (including
luminescence, fluorescence, AlphaScreen, imaging, etc.) are
essential. Key Responsibilities Utilize integrated assay automation
platforms to perform medium- to high-throughput cell-based screens
and assays in collaboration with therapeutic and functional area
scientists. Program and optimize automated systems, particularly
for assay protocol development. Provide training to users on
platform functionality and best practices to prevent operational
failures and ensure consistent performance. Serve as the first
point of contact for troubleshooting, diagnostics, and error
recovery. Maintain and culture immortalized and primary cell lines.
Manage laboratory inventory and ensure proper documentation. Ensure
strict adherence to laboratory safety standards and compliance
requirements. Support routine maintenance activities and coordinate
with OEM service providers to minimize downtime. Collaborate with
engineering teams to optimize system performance and reliability.
Maintain required certifications and compliance related to health,
safety, environmental, and security standards. Demonstrate
adaptability in managing shifting priorities and deadlines.
Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in engineering, Life
Sciences, or a related field with 2 years of experience in
laboratory automation and/or instrumentation support OR Associate
degree with 5 years of relevant experience in laboratory automation
and/or instrumentation support Technical Skills & Experience
Mandatory: Hands-on experience with Tecan Fluent programming
Experience with automation and laboratory equipment such as: Tecan
Fluent, Combi, BlueWasher, Cytomat, Liconic, WDII, PlateLoc, Xpeel,
Cytation, Pherastar, Vspin, Echo Strong knowledge of cellular and
biochemical assay techniques Experience working with immortalized
and/or primary cell cultures Understanding of device networking and
communication protocols Experience with scripting or advanced
programming languages Ability to work effectively in a
multidisciplinary, team-based environment Additional Notes for
Suppliers Tecan Fluent programming experience is a must-have
requirement. Candidates must have at least 2 years of directly
relevant experience in laboratory automation. TMN
