Position : Associate Scientist Location : Baltimore, MD Duration
: 12 Months Contract Start Time : 8:00 AM End Time : 5:00 PM Total
Hours/week : 42.50[Mon-Fri] Qualifications: We are looking for a
motivated Associate Scientist to join our company for a contract
position. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of professional
experience with the following: · Capable of creating and preparing
culture media in a GLP/GMP environment · Trained in working with
bacterial cultures · Skilled in the use of aseptic technique ·
Capable of evaluating test results and drawing conclusions ·
Efficient use of scales, balances and pH meters · Ability to work
with minimal supervision The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years in
a professional biotech environment, although education and academic
experience may be substituted. B.S. in Microbiology or a related
Life Science is preferred but not required. Responsibilities:
Associate Scientist is responsible for producing lab scale pilots
of prepared and dehydrated media and sterilizing biohazard wastes.
Accurately and consistently prepares plated and tubed media pilots
as well as stocked media for testing by laboratory personnel. This
testing involves the precise weighing of individual ingredients,
physical preparation of materials as well as in-process checks (pH,
autoclaving and dispensing into final form.
