Job Description Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Employment Support Specialist to support individuals in achieving meaningful employment opportunities. This role involves working closely with diverse populations, including individuals with developmental disabilities and autism, to provide tailored employment services, mentorship, and training. Duties - Develop individualized employment plans based on client needs, strengths, and goals - Build and maintain relationships with local employers, staffing agencies, and community partners - Identify and secure competitive integrated employment opportunities aligned with participant goals, abilities, and support needs - Educate employers on inclusive hiring practices and disability awareness - Support onboarding and initial job training as needed - Support participants through job placement, stabilization, and retention phases - Provide follow-along and long-term employment supports for assigned caseload. - Address workplace challenges and coordinate accommodations or additional supports - Promote job retention, satisfaction, and career growth. - Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation for assigned caseload - Communicate regularly with participant regarding participant progress - Ensure compliance with confidentiality, HIPAA, and agency policies - Collaborate with internal staff, families, service providers to ensure coordinated supports - Participate in team meetings, trainings, and required state compliance activities - Conduct vocational assessments, employment discovery, and career exploration activities - Develop and implement individualized employment plans aligned with Person-Centered Plans (PCP) - Provide job readiness training, including resumes, interview preparation, workplace expectations, soft skills, and self-advocacy - Support participants in requesting and utilizing reasonable accommodations - Conduct interviews and assessments to determine clients’ skills, interests, and barriers to employment - Provide job coaching, mentoring, and ongoing support to ensure successful job placement and retention - Assist clients with resume writing, interview preparation, and skill development through training sessions - Collaborate with employers to identify suitable job opportunities and facilitate workplace accommodations - Educate clients on employment & labor laws to promote understanding of workers’ rights - Work with people with developmental disabilities and autism to create customized employment strategies - Support workforce development initiatives by participating in community outreach and partnership building - Maintain accurate records of client progress and employment outcomes in compliance with organizational policies - Stay current on best practices in addiction counseling, social work, and employment services Qualification - Experience working with people with developmental disabilities and autism is highly desirable - Skills in counseling, mentoring, interviewing, teaching, and training & development - Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations - Excellent communication skills for engaging clients and collaborating with employers - Ability to develop tailored employment strategies that promote independence and success - Compassionate approach with a commitment to supporting individuals’ growth and self-sufficiency This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by empowering individuals toward successful employment outcomes within an inclusive community setting.
