Job Description We have an exciting opportunity for a Graphic
Design Intern at UL Research Institutes. This will be a hybrid
opportunity based in our Columbia, Maryland office. The Graphic
Design Intern works with the Senior Multimedia Graphic Designer and
other digital content creators within FSRI to create impactful fire
safety promotional and educational visual content to meet the needs
of internal and external stakeholders. UL Research Institutes: At

learn and achieve: As the Graphic Design Intern, you will play a
key role in the rapid growth of UL as you: Assist in planning,
design, and execution of print and multimedia deliverables that
engage, inform, and educate. Assist in the design of publications,
newsletters, social media posts, infographics, and charts, as well
as editing photographs and creating PowerPoints, to support the
needs of the organization. Support the creation of reports,
presentations, and visualizations summarizing research findings.
Prepare materials for internal and external presentations. Work
closely with the amplification and research teams to gather
information, share insights, and contribute to a collaborative and
innovative environment. Help maintain and update a library of Brand
Assets. Perform other duties as directed. What makes you a great
fit: While no one candidate will embody every quality, the
successful candidate will bring many of the following professional
competencies and personal attributes: Familiarity with design
software and technologies, including the Adobe Creative Cloud
applications, Canva and PPT. Strong creative problem-solving and
analytical skills. Demonstrate attention to detail and creativity
in aspects of graphic design, including concepts, typography,
imagery, color, and layout. Eagerness to learn, adapt, and take on
new challenges. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Professional education and experience requirements for the role
include: Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in
graphic design or a related field (Recent graduates may also be
considered.) Strong interest in the non-profit sector and research
related to safety, social or environmental issues. Proficiency with
graphic content creation tools to create, design, develop, and
deliver graphic designs, and the ability to learn new software
applications is a must. Animation and/or photography experience is
a plus. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe InDesign,
Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar programs required. About UL
